Misaligned bezels on CW divers

Post by abeardsley2020 »

I’ve had numerous Christopher ward watches over the years other than a handful of their “divers” all other divers have had misaligned bezels or wonky indices is this a widespread issue? Does it happen this often with other brands. I have just returned one of their new pro 300s for the second time as the steel insert has been off. I’ve attached a photo below it’s not for anyone to say it camera angles etc it’s for illustration of what can be clearly seen by eye. Thanks

Your photo is playing hide and seek!

If the internet is to be believed, Seiko are the world offender when it comes to misaligned bezel inserts.

Back to CW I don't believe I've ever had a wonky index or a bezel which has bothered me. Tell you what, here's a photo of all my CW watches........

My Trident Pro 600 GMT had bezel misalignment. I was amazed it passed some sort of QC as it was so obvious. Took 6 weeks at CW Towers to get it sorted.

My recently purchased Aquitaine had a misaligned bezel. Seems very common on CW watches for some reason. I don't get why since QC should catch it, and it should be very easy to correct.

I've had a few Seiko's with misaligned bezels, as well as a couple of microbrands - guess it's my luck, but I can't recall any misalignment issues with any of my CW's - more than a dozen divers.

My Dartmouth is perfectly aligned and my OCD is very strong for such things.

The one C60 of mine I thought was misaligned was simply a perception resulting from my viewing angle. I haven’t seen the misalignment since with that watch or any other CW I have. I expect some exist.

I’ve found CW to be particularly good with the bezel alignment. The best I’ve ever had hve been Casio, spot on every time. This may be an internet rumour but I believe Casio have some particularly automated production lines, which may be the answer.

I expect Seiko, especially their cheaper models (the ones I buy) to be misaligned, so I’m not disappointed when they are
