C60 Graphite Edition £640 on bracelet!!!!

Post by Tonywalker »

Many years ago I bought a DLC coated C4 Peregrine.

In my naivety at the time, I didn't realise it would scratch up the way it did.

I see from rhe FB page that there's a new fab C60 Trident 600m Graphite on CW website - £640 on a bracelet!!!!

Seems to be too good to be true.

Does anybody have any feedback re the quality of coating on the C4 vs later PVD versions please?

Seems a very reasonable price to me. I think it looks better on the bracelet than the nato.

More decisions then. Wait for the sale first? Don't wait for the sale first?
It's only a limited edition of 250, but I it certainly represents value even without a discount code. :D

I have the C60 Abyss, same 42mm PVD coated case as this. I've had it for over 2 years, and I don't pull punches while wearing this watch. It's been swimming many times and has been with me while doing yard work and other DIY products. It's a very hardy coating, I can see no metal underneath and no visible scratches.

The archives say the black C4 case is IPK, not PVD or DLC. I'm not sure what IPK is.

I have just ordered one on a hybrid strap. In EU you pay 665 Euro for the combo. I hope that when I get it I can confirm it is a bargain.

Thanks Ajax87

I think the IPK will just be IP coating I am guessing?

I have taken the plunge with the Graphite, off the back of your experience with your C60 Abyss.

Fingers crossed it is much more robust than the C4 was.

Thanks for the prompt response and feedback - much appreciated!

I think (huge asterisk here because I am not completely sure) IPK is some form of powder coat. If that is the case it would be far less durable than a DLC treatment.

OMG.

No wonder at that price for a C60 600m Trident
Amazing value for money.
So glad I stopped dithering and decided to place the order. I was going to wait for the sale, but I just couldn't resist this beauty!

And I got my first bid on my Speedmaster Triple Date yesterday, so telling my better half will be that much easier🙄

IPK is the CW model code, nothing to do with coating.

PVD is far superior to DLC.

The internet says DLC and IP are both types of PVD coatings? I can’t make sense of it all, other than the thickness and the specific process used will affect the durability. Everything I can find says DLC is superior to other types.

The listing for this watch is confusing, but ONLY the caseback is DLC. The case is not DLC, it’s PVD.

So, this watch comes out today and is already gone? What is going on with this brand? It’s become another Halios, which I ditched 2 years ago over the frustration. I really don’t understand this. It’s a like the company is just here for 200-300 tweekers sitting at their keyboards waiting. It just makes no sense and I don’t care what anyone says. Bad bad business model that drives away customers.
