Finally... two become three
Finally... two become three
Although I'm done with watch collecting and I haven't purchased anything for over 12 months, I have to admit to having a little slip-up this morning.
I had a small problem with my GMT-Master II (hour hand slipping a bit during the setting process) and since the watch is 8 years old I decided it was time to get it serviced, so I popped in to my local Rolex AD, which also stocks Tudor and Bremont.
The guys in there are friends of mine and of course we got chatting about the state of the market, the move by Rolex into having more control of the secondary market, Rolex supply/demand balance, their success with Tudor (I was there first Tudor customer back in 2014 before the brand officially re-launched in the UK), and the relative lack of demand for Bremont since the brand started to offer direct online sales with 0% finance. During this conversation they offered me an opportunity for "mates rates" on their in-stock Bremonts, so... it would have been rude not to a least have a look.
Front and centre in the cabinet was a watch I've mentioned numerous times on here - one that I've toyed with for several years - the S300/White.
Words were spent, money changed hands - and two became three:
The watch came on the Bremont "NATO" (well engineered, high quality but I'm not keen on NATO's with tucky/flappy bits) and is currently mounted on the bracelet from one of my other S300's. I'm thinking of another Haveston to complement it, but we will see.
Keep eyes on SC as I seek to maintain the overall number in my watch box!

That's a handsome threesome.
A great addition and it will be interesting to see what you put in the shop window.

Great addition, Richard.
I believe we may have mentioned this before but if I'm right then I am very, very familiar with the same AD. I'm in town this coming Saturday and will pop in for a long overdue catch-up and perhaps a glass of Christmas cheer!

Yes, I'm sure we are talking about the same place. Nice guys.

Very nice. I’ve had two of these Bremonts myself, the S301 and the same white S300 you’ve just acquired.
Are you keeping the three or will one of those be moving on?

Yes they are, David and Carl.
David pulls off minor miracles at times.

These three will stay together for the foreseeable (i.e. next couple of months).

He does, I suppose with 40 odd years in the business he knows a few tricks of the trade.

Well if ‘the foreseeable’ is just ‘the next couple of months’ then I think you’re right back in the game!

Love the new addition, great depth to dial.
Plus, that’s how to put white hands on a white dial.
