Aquitaine color suggestion
Aquitaine color suggestion
I just wondered if people thought there might be mileage in another color combo for the Aquitaine (Aquitaine COSC ideally
I was thinking a bronze and green combo, similar to the Rado Captain Cook. I think that would look amazing on the Aquitaine. They’ve got the bronze and blue version, so it’s not a wild jump to bronze and green.
I’ve made a quick mock-up of my idea. What do people think?

Green and "gold" is lovely but the white date wheel and flags are too prominent, just as they are on the bronze/blue. A black (or better green) date and applied bronze flags would be great.

Slightly different, but there's already a CW bronze watch in a different green, also a chronometer. It's a C60 Ombre, with a distressed dial. Maybe that's why they went for blue rather than green. I have that green watch. I get the impression green is a bit marmite compared to the blue though.

I get that, but the distressed look of that watch is a different style to the Aquitaine. I just look at the Rado Captain Cook, and I think that the design idea would work so well on the Aquitaine.JAFO wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 12:39 pm Slightly different, but there’s already a CW bronze watch in a different green, also a chronometer. Really? I think they look really clean on both and match with the white lumed area of the hands well.suicidal_orange wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 11:41 am Green and “gold” is lovely but the white date wheel and flags are too prominent, just as they are on the bronze/blue. This is what it would look like with the black date and bronze flags. It looks good. I suppose it depends what you’re going for:
I tried a green date window. It didn’t look nice

I really like that green bronze Aquitaine. I dislike distressed dials so the sealander doesn’t do it for me

Re: Aquitaine color suggestion
I think that you got it right with your first effort using the white indices, flags & date window. In theory using matching colors like bronze & green may sound good but I don’t think provides a uniform contrast. Your mock up is a sharp looking Aquitaine & quite different than a bronze & green distressed dial. Good work!

My 55 year old eyes really appreciate the white date wheel on my bronze aquitaine, it makes the date very legible.

Re: Aquitaine color suggestion
I noticed that the bronze Sandhurst Series 2 has a matching bronze bracelet.
Is CW planning to produce bronze bracelets for Aquitaine? That'd be awesome!

This looks good. How about a bronze date window instead of white or black?SubFunc wrote:Really?
