Loupe 27 - Winter '22
A copy of Loupe 27 was delivered by my Postie today.
For those who have yet to receive it, especially anyone not in UK, you may read and download a .pdf version on the CWArchive
There is a lot of information within about the design and inception of the C1 Bel Canto.

Re: Loupe 27 - Winter '22
Too bad about the spelling mistake on page 3 - "Trusst"? Or is it supposed to be some irreverent mistake related to the trident on the end of the second hand in the picture adjacent to it on the same page?
Cheers,
M

I've got it in mind that it's a play on the double S in Swiss but there's probably a better reason I guess.

^^^^ You and the other forum members who have commented so far.
It's clearly a play on words though, given our forum ethos, not something we should debate.

On page 11, a teaser about a new line coming - inspired by 1970s watch design and “There’s one genre of watch that our collection is missing.” Perhaps the return of a motorsport line?

First thing I thought was integrated bracelet steel sports watch. Admittedly that is taking quite a bit from the teaser image and the fact that it is a butterfly clasp on the bracelet.

Ooh, interesting speculation. They do make reference to Royal Oak and Nautilus in the write up, both of which have integrated bracelets, correct? I’m intrigued!

^^^ Well every man and his dog now does an integrated bracelet “sports” watch. No reason for CW not to do the same…
If they make it 39mm, with a height of 9mm-10mm and a non chunky correctly tapered bracelet and 100m WR that would be good.

Re: Loupe 27 - Winter '22
Where's this one going forumites?
Missing genre could include
quartz watch,
chronograph,
daily alarm watch,
tuning fork hummer,
pocket watch,
"for smaller wrists formerly described as a ladies watch",
doubtless others. 100m WR doesn't point towards it being at all "diver-ish".
What would a "carbon neutral, wind or solar powered watch" look like?

Not sure about genres, but it’s been a while since we had squares... I almost bought a makaira the other day, but a seventies square would suit me down to the ground
