It is a great thread but very hard to pin down 'The Most Beautiful CW' as we all will have a different view on it.
Lot's of my watches again in my opinion fall in to that category even some of my divers, the Super Compressors etc.

However beautiful as 'classically elegant' then the following would be my choices with the C9 SS probably just slightly ahead of the other two.

Ah, was waiting for some heavyweight photos from you Ferg, and you haven't failed to deliver. Frankly, you could make a cheap Casio digital look good. Btw...I agree with you about the Super Compressor as well as a couple of the other more tool-like watches.

Very true. There are a number of CWs that don’t appeal to me, then Ferg posts a pic and I start thinking, “Well that looks pretty good!”

For me while the marine watch is nice I feel its ruined by the date window, only if perhaps it could have say a day date on either side to balance things up would it make a difference.

My favourite CW watch is probably the monopusher ironically one I have never owned. I think the main reasons I never did was the overall size (43mm) and thickness of the case put me off a little. Second to that would be the jumping hour watch one I did own and later sell. Lovely watch just the right size (Got the smaller version) Always think about adding another jumping hour watch into my collection.

I'm amazed how under contributed to this thread is... and on a dedicated Christopher Ward forum! Of course it's subjective, but I thought people would be loading it up with photos of their favourite timepieces. Instead it stands a very real chance of being eclipsed by ''The Perfect Summer Hat' thread. Maybe the correct term is 'put in the shade'. Funny things, forums. There's oddities at work everywhere.

I have been at it too long to be amazed. I don’t think there’s a lot of rhyme or reason to it – some threads grab more people than others, some Member Introduction posts get a lot of replies yet others don’t, some SOTC posts similarly. A number of people whom I will call regular thread starters often begin a thread with a question of this type – sometimes they fly, sometimes they don’t.

Fully realizing that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I had a review of my collection as well as going through the Archives to review the models I do not have.

There have been and are, a lot of beautiful watches by CW. Beautiful can mean different things to each of us. For me beauty involves a certain amount of elegance. I narrowed the choices down to 3 models.

C1 Russell - GWT and GBG variants - This is the first CW watch that I literally said "Wow" when I first opened the box.

C9 Sub Second - I have always liked the marine look and first bought a Stowa Marine in 2008. When the C9 SS was launched I even did a comparison here.

C900 Monopusher -C900-SP-SWRS or SWRTR- A simple yet elegant workhorse if you wish.

After pulling them out and having a quick visual review I discovered it is a difficult choice. However, I can state that for me, the most beautiful CW watch is the C9 Sub Second.

I, and a few other people, also came to the same conclusion. I think if there was a poll then that would be the winner. An elegant and timeless watch.

This one’s out of left field, but I fully understand why you’ve mentioned it. It’s a beauty!

EDITED TO ADD: I had been thinking to myself that a pilot watch would never quality as beautiful. I’m happy to have been wrong.

This was never described by CW as a Pilot's watch. In fact it was the reverse as the C80 Sector is a recognition to the Sector Clocks only ever used in Ops Rooms.
