Nice one, scooter. Good to know you will enjoy the next 2 years on the Monkey.
Loving the new bike, thanks Rich. It's a very capable all-rounder - as is the GS.

Found a couple more pictures...
Loch Lomond
The ferry between Mallaig and Skye. Quite popular with bikers, although most of them were from further afield than me.

Its' probably my age, but I have to admit to using google before answering your question. And the answer, I'm afraid, is no.Kansas City Milkman wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 8:27 pm
Balamory! I don’t suppose you saw Miss Hooley, did you?

Thanks Downer! My comment was a bit niche, but Tobermory will be recognisable to some with kids of a particular age! The theme tune is a bit of an ear worm too.downer wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 8:47 pmIts' probably my age, but I have to admit to using google before answering your question. Having had a test ride a few weeks ago, I decided to trade my Multistrada for a V85TT. It's obviously very different and definitely a heart rather than head type of bike. Pootling about on this one gives me a great sense of freedom and relaxation, for some reason - and that's got to be good.
Just got to get a standard windscreen now, rather than the barn door "touring" job.

^^^^ Does the large (850cc?) V-twin give it a feel akin to the BMW Boxer?
Do Moto Guzzi still do the Californian? I looked at getting one back in the early 80's for the shaft drive but finished up with a Suzuki GS650 Katana instead.
Subsequently, I had a test ride around Mallory Park on a LeMans; that was a beast of a machine.

I think the Guzzi air-cooled V-twin is reminiscent of the older BMW boxer engine, with the characteristic shimmy on start up, but the latest incarnations of the Boxer are far more refined.
The Guzzi is old-school with only two valves per cylinder, although in other respects, the bike is thoroughly modern with a full electronics package.
The Californian name was in use until a few years ago, I believe, although I think it has been used on a variety of models over the years.

My pal has one of those except his is the Tonka Toy colour scheme. Very pretty bike. I had a go on it a few weeks back and I must say I thought it was extremely nice, super characterful but just a bit lacking in oomph for me. Like you say definitely a "pootler" and relaxing to ride.
Strangely enough if I were to look at changing my modern bike the only thing to tempt me at the moment would be a Multistrada.
Enjoy your new bike!

Believe me I'm only joking when I say that your motorcycle purchasing record is beginning to look somewhat akin to your watch history when I first joined here back in 2010.
Seriously it looks a lovely motorcycle and having read up on it I'm sure that you will have a lot of fun on it.

Guilty as charged, I reckon. There's no denying I've been a bit out of control these past few years but hopefully, I'm over it now.
