I’m off to Amalfi on Friday, staying in Sorrento. But will be visiting Portofino/Pompeii/Vesuvius etc.

Not our first trip as it’s an amazingly beautiful place.
Lucky lucky., I'm not at all jealous.
As you say it's a beautiful place. I would have suggested a couple of places to visit but then saw that it's not your first time there so I won't bother as you've probably been to them.

Have a great time.

Andrew

Can you confirm that is a CW on your wrist please? Unlike the many Hawkeye's of this parish, I can't tell from the photo. :D

And have a great break.

PS. Apologies for this. I know you have a good sense of humour though. I don't mean to pry, but I just wondered if you've seen Hope Springs with Merryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones. That was set in Maine. :D

Indeed it is. Better pic here

As for the movie, I haven’t seen it, but I’ll look it up. No offense will be taken.

The Mrs. is settling in nicely. Her school year was worse than mine, so she really needs this vaca!

A 'by the sea' holiday is a perfect antidote to a year in School, as my late wife would attest (she was a primary school teacher).

Have a great time Andrew and Mrs.

PS> When I saw the topic title, and before I read the first post, I though we were in for a Road Trip holiday in the MX5. Maine is only a few hours up the coast from Virginia. Isn't it?

Just a little more than a few. We once took my previous MX-5 to Cape Cod to visit my wife’s parents. It was great having it on the Cape for a week, but the drives up and back were brutal!

So there you both are doing your best to give us "departure lounge envy" and clearly having dressed for the occasion - that's not too schlubby by the way, there is clearly eye to eye chemistry between you and yet you skip over the question we're all thinking: what watches are they wearing?

Oooh, a trip to Maine, now, would be great! Enjoy yourselves. I haven’t been there in an age.

She’s wearing her Apple Watch, and I brought my C65 Trident Vintage.

Sailing from Korcula around the Dalmatian Islands. I always intended to post a holiday watch pic after being inspired by AVO. Here’s my 1st ever CW…a C11 MSL on a super-engineer 2. The watch is unsellable in my eyes as the wife bought it for me.

A couple of more suggestions:

If you are kicking around the Old Port be sure to stop in to Swiss Time on Congress Street. Nice shop that has been there a long time. Great selection of Hamiltons and Oris. They had a couple of Pateks when I was in there a month or so ago.

There is also a ferry from Portland to Peaks and back. Makes for a fund day and isn't too much of a time commitment.

Today we trekked down to Ogunquit and will stop in Kennebunkport on the way home. Dinner in Saco with friends tonight. Hopefully back to Port on and tomorrow. Saturday is beach day, Sunday is open.

Leaving for Cape Cod on Monday.
