Different Approach to Applied Indices - Tissot PRS 516

Post by Leon O »

I find the 5 minute indices of the Tissot PRS 516 to be quite unusual. The indices are located near the top of the rehaut, just under the crystal. Both the second hand and the tip of the minute hand pass under the markers.

Although the bracelet has no taper, it is reasonably comfortable.

I also found the PRS to be reasonably well finished.

So far I'm quite pleased with my discontinued model. Furthermore very happy with my first purchase from Ashford.com.

The PRS516 in all its variations is a very nice watch, but the yellow variation is my favourite. I made an offer on one recently, but missed out, so good on you!

This is my first watch with a black and yellow colorway. I think it will be fun to wear this summer.

I wasn't sure whether the hands were passing under the indices, or whether it was an illusion, but it's real. I wonder how much clearance there actually is between the indices and the back of the dial. Maybe they touch.

Really nice watch - the zenith defy classic has the indicies applied in this way also. Here was my one…

I really like this. It must get captivating to watch the hands cross behind the indices!

There's quite a it of clearance. If you look at the middle picture you can see the shadows from about the 10 to 2:00 markers.
