The end of the journey?
The end of the journey?
Today I’m a lucky boy, I managed to get my hands on a grail brand of watch and a grail watch. I’ve been desperate to get into a high horological piece and probably jumped in to late, as had to wait quite a while for this, not Rolex waits, but still months. I understand that I could easily have picked one of these up a few months ago, but now there’s a wait list…
The watch I’ve got is the Vacheron constantin fiftysix complete calendar and it’s a beauty. The dial and finishing are just spectacular, far superior to my other watches. And the marvel of having so many complications looking so symmetrical and so uncomplicated. A quick snap below, but more when I return home.

Ohhhhh, that’s beautiful.
I’d love to see it IRL - I bet it’s just a wonder to gaze on

Wow, lovely, high horology indeed. A name, a cross and no complications. Well, plenty of complications actually and all of the right kind. Enjoy!

Thanks so much all, another couple of pics including that incredible movement with the Geneva seal.
Swapped out to an omega barenia strap which I think makes it a little more casual and sporty than the stock alligator.
The incredible finishing seems to mean that every bit of dust shows up on these close up pictures, luckily my old eyes don’t see this…

^^^ Any thoughts about adding the OEM bracelet at some point?

Re: The end of the journey?
It’s only for the self winding model. Not the complete calendar. I don’t think one will every be available as it would cover the moon phase “toothpick” adjuster which is in between the lower lugs.

Is this going to be a one watch or join your rotation? (After the honeymoon I mean!)

I could never get down to a one watch, but, let’s hope it ends the crazy journey!
