Praise for C63 Sealander

Post by Peteo »

Those of you who have been reading my posts over the last little while know that I recently bought a C63 Sealander GMT for a very good friend. Well, I had occasion to get another one, and this time, I went with the white dial automatic.

I have to say that I am very very impressed. Even more so than with the GMT, to be honest. This one just oozes quality and class. The initial impression was probably the best of any CW I have bought. Hard to see how anyone could argue with the value proposition for a piece like this, even taking into account the recent price increase.

If anyone out there in forumland is on the fence about one of these, I am here to tell you that you won’t be disappointed.

Well done, CWL!

The white dial looks amazing! I have a green GMT, and I absolutely love it - as you said, definitely a fantastic value proposition even with the new prices.

Not for nothing was the Sealander automatic voted Forum Watch of the Year.

Though as an owner of the selfsame black GMT that your best man was sporting the other day… :D

I held off for nearly a year on a Sealander, not because they were somehow unappealing but more for how one would fit in with the watches I already had. I ordered a white auto and it is really a great and good watch. I’m pleased that I decided to go ahead with one.

This model is exceptionally close to the perfect watch for me. Black dial or white dial, just (please) slap a COSC movement into it and I’d buy one in a heartbeat!
I did own the Elite version for a while, but, despite its higher spec movement, I just found its dial too busy for me. The less-involved dial of your version really appeals to me!
Wear in good health and keep well,

I agree wholeheartedly with these sentiments. I have both the original black GMT and the white auto and feel they surpass anything CW have released either before or after.

I’m expecting to own both these for a long time which is something I’ve never achieved with all the other CW watches that have slipped through my hands.

Very interesting to look back at that thread and see the philosophical underpinnings of the C60 Concept vs. the C63 Sealander.

I know you are a huge supporter of the GMT version, Steve, and rightly so! Pete is definitely happy with his!

The company definitely has a winning model range for the long term.

Just got my copy of the latest Loupe and saw the blurb about 36mm. I’m really excited by this!

Recently bought my first CW. A C63 Sealander blue.
I have spent a few years searching for my Gada. I’m an outdoor guy and need something that I can wear working in the yard, hiking, around the house or out to dinner. This one ticks all the boxes. It came with a blue and white #tide band but just bought a bracelet for it from CW.

I’ll keep this one for a long time.

And that's the model I'm fence-sitting over.

Green dials are hugely under-represented here at Tikka Towers: there's an Armida (currently listed FS here and maybe about to go on EBa>) and there's another diver but that one's a very heavy watch and a rather less-than-appealing mid green so a subtle green would fit right at home.

Does it need to be GMT? No it doesn't.
Does it need a steel bracelet? No it doesn't but "old habits"....

Or maybe there's a reason that I don't have much green? I don't think I do.

We'll see....
C60 MKI, MKII, MKIII: "some",
C6 & C60 Kingfishers,
C600 Tritechs,
C63 "some",
C65 "some",
C4, C40, C8, C9, C3, C5, C20 & 23FLE
Some other brands
