Remembering Beastmaster

Post by Kip »

As we end 2021, a tumultuous time for many worldwide, with the hope of a healthy and prosperous New Year to come, I would ask that we take a moment to reflect on a long time member and friend Beastmaster. It was 5 years ago today that Beastie lost his long cancer battle.

Beastmaster joined the forum on April 2, 2008. He quickly became a very active and respected member. He started looking for a C6 Kingfisher with an automatic movement and eventually got his wish with the C60 yellow Kingfisher.

Although Beastie never really discussed his cancer on the forum, he did have a Lifeblog where he documented his story and how he dealt with life as a result. Beastie absolutely adored his wife "Peanut" and if you take a bit of time to read his blog you will understand.

Beasties last forum post was about 7 months before he left us. He had sent me a pm telling me he had enough other things to focus on, but wanted me to know he was still lurking. Beastie made the most of his time and was posting his story on his own blog. This was very therapeutic for him.

We were informed of Beastmasters passing by close friend and member Scrogg on December 31, 2016.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Peanut and the rest of the Beastmaster family on this day of remembrance.

I was thinking about Adrian only a few days ago realising that it was 5 years ago since he passed away.

I followed his Lifeblog over many years and found his ability to deal with the whole terrible situation incredibly inspirational.
