Rather irrational but fancy putting one of these back in the box

I thought about selling mine for a while but so glad I didn’t. It wears so comfortably and is by far the most accurate quartz I have owned. Looks good on more straps that people might imagine.

This is a daydream because while I really like these new speedtimers, Seiko seems to be really pushing the limits on their price points. If I’m spending $3k on a chronograph, it’s not going to be a Seiko.

Just came across this for diver lovers. New release, 43mm, titanium on either nato or titanium bracelet. Love the colours.

This was the kind of embellishment and decoration I had in mind for your new C9 caseback. But done on a bit more 'beer' money as opposed to 'Champagne'. What an incredible watch, Steve. :D

Well, right now I'm dreaming about three watches. First the ETA apprentice piece on its way home to me after service by Simon Freese. Second the Omega Speedmaster "Teutonic" currently with Simon for similar service. Thirdly, the next big watch from CW and I find I'm thinking will I like the design and will I want one.

Almost certainly, Dwight, human nature being what it is.

Eheu, tempore Romanorum non erat Interrete!

(Alas, in the time of the Romans there was no Internet!)

I’m sure if there had been the informal vernacular we know would have been much more diverse and we would have had more coming down to us than a few scrawlings on walls in Pompeii. Most of the Latin we get to see and study is more literary in nature, mainly coming from the authors whose works have survived. Whilst there are many interesting epithets, particularly in the works of Catullus and Ovid to name but two, many of them are rather contrived and long winded, like this paragraph.

A polite Roman, seeing a pretty girl passing, might have muttered something like:

Mehercle, quam pulchra!
(God, she’s nice!)

This one has been on my mind a lot lately. I know the prevailing opinion is that the Overseas is the watch to get but I like the more classic lines of this one.

Trying to make a decision between BB58 (blue or black, both lovely), Speedmaster 38mm (grey with orange accents) or Grand Seiko Kira-Zuri 🤔
