Can anyone supply a steel Screwdown crown for CW model 2111?
Thanks.

Hi Brendan,

Unless I'm forgetting something obvious, I don't think CW has a model 2111 or any other reference to that number.

Have you got a bit more information about the model you're interested in?

In any case, if the crown is a part that is bespoke to CW, then only CW will have it - and they don't supply parts to others. Unless you're looking for a donor watch from which to harvest the part?

Dear Welshlad,
Thank you for your reply.
The watch has 2111 engraved on the case back.
However, I feared that the part may not be supplied by CW.
I did find an alternative Screwdown crown which I believe that the owner will be comfortable with.

^^^^ That's a C5 Malvern. Details available in the CWArchive.

2111 is the serial number of the watch (not model number).

As already mentioned, CW will not supply parts to third parties. If you've therefore been able to find an alternative non-branded Crown it seems like a suitable alternative.

Aha! Those pics help a lot.

The "2111" is the serial number of the watch.

The model is a C5 Malvern Automatic (Mark 1), which is no longer in production.

It wouldn't hurt to contact CW Customer Services to see if they have an old crown available, but generally the answer does seem to be "no". Otherwise, the alternative crown might be the only way forward - unless someone here has an old non-functioning C5 they are happy to offer up for parts?

EDIT: Guy got in there before me! :)

Thank you for your replies and putting me straight on the model.
I have already emailed CW but so far only recieved an acknowledgement.
I have been repairing watches since the time when manufacturers supplied spare parts to me for free, their hoping to encourage brand loyalty. Subsequently of course, parts became more and more expensive with them being sold individually instead of traditionally in packs of three.
Now we have reached the point where in order to get parts (from Swatch Group in particular) one needs to buy several thousands of pounds worth of tools and equipment in order to become an authorised repairer, and tools for each brand one hopes to work on.
Currently, Cousin's are questioning this move in the Swiss Courts by a case against Swatch.
I sincerely hope that Cousins win their case, otherwise it will be likely that all Swiss manufacturers, whether watches or any other devices will adopt this ruling which will result in monopolies and inevitable price rises.
Healthy competition is a prime principal of democracy as is freedom of choice. This would be severely limited if Swatch wins.
This brilliant trade would therefore suffer immeasurably.
I think it would be the end of economically viable repairs for all brands.
