Will there be a black Friday sale this year?

Post by BIP »

Hello, I plan on purchasing getting the C60 tide tomorrow and my question is pretty simple, do you reckon there will be a black Friday sale this year?
I can't really wait for black Friday itself since I need the watch before a certain date, but I would be willing to compromise a bit assuming they usually do one...

Thanks in advance!

Its difficult to say whether there will be a Black Friday Sale this year and we've only really got the precedent of previous years to go by.

Suffice to say; last year, 2020, CW did 15% off everything, with the exception of the C60 Blue Marine LE.

There is, of course the current £100/$125 discount using the 100LOUPE23 / 125LOUPE23 voucher code available if you can't wait.

Hope this helps.

Only on a day that ends with Y.

I’m sure there will be something, but you never quite know whether it will be across the range or whether there will be exemptions. One year I seem to remember that they had 15% off watches with black dials, for example!

I think generally the bigger sales have taken place in January, and july.

Thanksgiving is not celebrated in the UK, but retailers have increasingly started to have BF events. Traditionally the major UK sale is the post Christmas sale, hence January. ( In fact for stores it is Dec 26th which we call Boxing Day). I don't think a retailer could easily do both sales (Thanksgiving and Christmas), and wouldn't really want to have sales in late November that might sell full price as Christmas gifts. Don't you have that effect in the US as well?

Typically the Black Friday events are short, sharp promotions with 15% off either selected lines or the whole range with exceptions. The deeper discounts tend to be in January and July on models that are coming to the end of their production life or have been slow movers.

I'm in the U.K. and may be wrong, but my understanding is that 'Black Friday' sales were originally to clear old/last years stock to make way for new stock/Christmas goods which are full price. Open to correction though.

I thought it was the day that US retailers accounts went from being in the red to being in the black

With the previous Black Friday sales, was the BF sale discount stackable with the CW Loupe Coupon ($125 / 100EURO etc)…?

I’m assuming not but wanted to still inquire.

It's one or the other, depends on the value of purchase as to which offers the best discount.

Figured as much. Not disappointed but surely was hoping to hack the deal even better, lol.
