New mesh strap for my Seiko Ani-Digi
Awhile ago I found a working example of what was my first true watch, a Seiko Ani-digital. It looked good enough and was fully functional, but the strap on it was horrid.
I replaced it with a Barton silicon. I like it well enough and it was super comfortable. Unfortunately, it was a tight fit on the lugs (depth, not width) and would occasionally pop loose. As a result, I rarely wore the watch.
I decided to take a chance on an inexpensive mesh bracelet from Amazon. I like it! It looks good, and the fit (on both the watch head and my wrist) is perfect. As an added bonus, it came with two sets of quick release pins.
What does everyone think? Good switch?

Top notch, Andrew.
Way better than the Barton option.
Do you know what the original Seiko strap was?

I have faded memories of the original. It was rubber and flared out where it attaches to the lugs, if that makes sense. The one I received with the watch was NOT original and was the wrong size - 19mm squeezed into 18mm.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Mon Nov 15, 2021 2:26 am Top notch, Andrew.

I searched all over for one similar to the original Seiko. I found one I thought might work…but it didn’t. The Barton was option 2.
I’m really happy with this mesh!

You’ve got the complete look with the mesh. Nice one.

That certainly looks like a good solution. Possibly a little more elegant than the original?

Re: New mesh strap for my Seiko Ani-Digi
Thanks everyone! I’m wearing it today and am really happy with it. The clasp works a bit like a Bader deployant, so that’s super convenient. And the excess strap is pretty low profile, so there’s very little bulk on the underside of my wrist.
My only quibble so far is that occasionally an arm hair or two will get snagged on the mesh.

I think that’s just what the doctor ordered for that watch!
I used to have a similar strap on my Apple Watch, and it caught hairs on occasion too. Worth it IMO. Looks great.

Re: New mesh strap for my Seiko Ani-Digi
It look's like you've got a complete package now. Nicely done
What is the name of the strap company? I'd like to get a mesh bracelet in the 21mm width?
Strapcode has one, but with shipping it get's pretty close to the cost of the OEM bracelet.

Re: New mesh strap for my Seiko Ani-Digi
I simply did a search on Amazon for black mesh watch bracelet 18mm. This is the one I ordered, but it doesn’t come in 21mm

It’s not the highest quality, but at the price I’m more than pleased with it. Good luck in the search.

Thanks Andrew, I'll keep that one in mind for some my other watches. Last night I diid find the 21mm Miltat on Prime. It's on the top of my wish list for Christmas.jkbarnes wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 4:22 amI simply did a search on Amazon for black mesh watch bracelet 18mm. Re: New mesh strap for my Seiko Ani-Digi
For Christmas my wife gave me a Strapcode/Miltat mesh bracelet. Due to my poor dexterity, it took more than 30 minutes to size it. I think it looks as good as the OEM mesh bracelet, but it has QR springbars and is only half the price.
