And so it begins 😁
(The last one sold on there was a tri-04 that went for less than the sale price unused, £425 I think it was)

I’ve surrendered and ordered the TRI-04 in orange…fingers crossed I guess. A 14 day returns policy is a tad mean spirited compared to CW. Anyone anything on these Soprod movements?

Soprod movements are good to go. My Magrette had one and no problems at all.

From what I've read this Soprod movement was designed by Seiko but built in Switzerland, and owners report its excellent quality with winding being "as smooth as butter". These movements being used by Tribus are also COSC certified chronometer grade.

Serica is using the Soprod in the 5303 (Soprod Newton). The 'Top-Flight' movements are supposed to be +- 4 sec per day adjusted in 5 positions for this one.

The Soprod A10 is based on a Seiko design used under license. Looks like they have been making it since 2004. From what I can find the TRI-04 uses the C115 which is based on the A10 with an added module. Not too much info out there for the grades available for this movement. A solid movement though.

The A10 is a drop in for the ETA 2892 although I don't think it is a direct copy. It is just the same size with the fittings in the correct places. It looks like the Seiko version (4L/6L) have been used in some Credor and Presage LEs.

Was only going to be a matter of time. Especially with those sale prices.

Sorry Guy, forgot to say also looking forward to see your thoughts on the watch. Especially as it’s now sold out (well it was this morning). Hopefully it will be welcomed into the collection!

I did not know it was a direct replacement. This makes sense, as my A10 and 2892 are my smoothest winding watches. "Like butter" is a good description.

That is a pretty low price for the spec though

Yeah I paid £550 with the discount for the orange version, so would have snapped it up and cancelled mine had I seen it! At £425 it would also fall into the “probably not worth selling” category but mine being £550 will get a once over before I decide whether to keep 😁

When I emailed them on the 8th Nov I was told up to 2 weeks. I have sent them another email this morning. I can't believe they had that much stock / orders they couldn't fulfil within 2 weeks.
We will see........
