Good to hear it’s just as good looking in person! The bigger case does put me off a bit though, for some reason I thought it was 42mm. The steel bezel seems to merge with the dial, so perhaps a black bezel would help it wear smaller. Might be something I try in the future!

Certainly a great looking dial up there with the best of them. Its size was one of the things that made me hesitant about buying it from Paul. Having since owned one of the 9300 Speedys, I think it would have been fine - the 44.25mm case was not much different on my wrist than the normal 42mm even with the goldfish bowl case back on the 9300 model. Paul’s Speedy would certainly have been thinner than that, so I imagine it would wear pretty well.ajax87 wrote:Good to hear it’s just as good looking in person! One that got away…
And yes, a black bezel would look great, but you’d need to check if they’re interchangeable with the current 9300/9900 versions. If so, you could even get a black ceramic bezel.
Edit: I’m not an enabler…

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
I was put off the speedmaster racing by the stated size of 44.25nm. I hadn't been able to try one in person
However, the speedmaster professional, with a stated case diameter of 42mm, ( because of the crown guards) actually has a bezel diameter of just under 40mm, and wears like a 40mm.
In the same way I understand the speedmaste racing actually has a wider case, and a bezel diameter of 42mm, and therefore doesn't wear as big as a 44nm watch.

^^^ Luckily, no matter how much all of you try to enable me, my bank account just won’t allow this one at this time! Hence posting in the daydream thread. Maybe a watch for another year…

Fabulous watch Richard, very iconic and the SW300 works well. This particular incarnation is also reasonably faithful to the original.
Was my grail for years which I was lucky enough to realise along with the Silverstone. Unfortunately the size and square shape conspired to make it quite uncomfortable on my wrist (I have a very prominent wrist bone) and it had to go. Despite this, still love the model, its a definite try before you buy though.

Absolutely stellar choices. I have looked at these exact models myself and they are firmly rooted in the Grail category.BobMunro wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 1:43 pmI am being drawn more and more to GO - I've posted previously about the 70s Chrono but the Pano models are also tempting me (a lot!).watchaholic wrote: ↑Sat Oct 16, 2021 12:37 pmBut honestly, so much better than all the tiny subdials.

Maybe it’s just me, but it bothers me that two of the crosshatch lives are missing for each angle. Ok, they’re consistently omitted, but it just doesn’t look right to me.
