CW half links World Tour report

Post by desmodue »

CW was kind enough to supply the newer properly sized half links for my C60 Trident. Sent via Royal Mail on/around Aug 12th to Peru, Indiana USA. At one point the package was less than 150 miles from my home when it was at the Chicago terminal, but ended up in Lima, Peru South America. By the time it is delivered it will have covered over 12,000 miles on the journey. All for the price of a stamp.

Not a rant, just an amusing situation.

I am envisioning an envelope like one of the old steamer trunks with all of the stickers!

This process started the beginning of August, lost items through the mail happens. It's annoying when it does but overall the mail is dependable.

Three requests for a way to order half links unaswered.

CW's lack of response tells me that I am an idiot for buying from them. No wonder so many complain about poor service experience.

The USPS sent your package to Lima, Peru, instead of Lima, Indiana, which you seem to view with just mild amusement. But three unanswered emails from CW and you dismiss the whole company? I don’t understand that.

OK, then tell me how many months and how many unanswered requests before it isn't my fault but theirs?

Definitely not your fault - definitely the fault of .....

USPS!

No, it is not the responsibility of the United States Post Office to handle request for service from a private business.

USPS lost the package, that's totally their fault.
Christopher Ward was made aware of USPS losing the package...and did nothing. Didn't file a lost package claim. Didn't replace the lost item. Didn't answer multiple request for a way to order half links.

I made an email enquiry yesterday and was told they would send me to a payment page to pay £12 per half link and would send them when they get them in 6 months time.
In awe of the knowledge on this forum.

That clearly wasn't a sustainable business model since in addition to production cost they were also covering shipping. Their current charge is extremely reasonable and can be considered a nominal fee compared to some other brands that charge hundred(s) for extra links.
