Hi Guys,
I'm looking for somewhere that sells secondhand automatic watch movement and possibly cases too.
Ideally high end Japanese movements as the parts to build a watch up from that seem easy to come buy but Swiss would be fine too.
where to buy a watch movement
Re: where to buy a watch movement
Hi Chris,
I was doing some research some months ago to see if I could mod a watch that I mistakenly bought whilst I was on holiday in Egypt. I came across this organisation https://www.cousinsuk.com/department/watch-movements. I did not purchase from them but I believe they are an established organisation and they are well known in watch making circles.
I hope the link helps

eBay with an old watch listed as 'spares and repairs'?
You might be opening a can of worms though; buying new from the likes of Cousins would seem a better option.

I believe I need a business account to be able to purchase from them but I'll try and start an account and see what happens.
However I just bagged this bargain today which has the movement and case I was after so this might become the basis of my first DIY project anyway!!

You don’t need to be a business to create an account with Cousins. I’ve got one and I’m definitely an amateur.
If you’re looking for a Seiko 4R35/36 movement then try seikomods.com they sell NH35/36 movements which are the Seiko 3rd party equivalents. They’ll sell you an unregulated version for about £40 or will regulate it for an additional £10-15. Although it looks like their stock is limited at the moment.
