C70 resurgence.....forum trend spotted?

Post by Viognier »

Just a forumite observation. It feels like the C70 lineup has received a bit of an attention renaissance since the calendar rolled over to 2021. I'm kind of enjoying it!
Small collection of timepieces that I enjoy

:D
It does appear that way
...it seemed to kick off with the DBR1/2 that came up on eBay the other week.

I like seeing the posts. I’ve always loved the C70 line up, and had been tempted on a number of occasions to purchase the C70 FR 1906. What always held me back was the size of the watch and simply not feeling I had the self-confidence to pull off wearing such a bold design.

They really are things of beauty!

They are indeed but, obviously, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Trying to find a good one is challenging 'cause those aluminum painted bezels don't half take a beating.

Fantastic Richard and has obviously been treasured
...and love the model that you got the other day to go with it (as seen in another thread) :D

I was lucky enough to pick up a mint condition DBR1 COSC the other week

I felt very similar about them, i.e. too busy.
(which is also the way I feel about a lot of the Breitling offerings)
However, I've always been a big motorsport fan (both as a participant and viewing)
Funny how tastes change over the years.

Thanks - I'm very pleased with the C70s - also 'overflowed' is a C70 RAF Ad Astra in Silver/Blue, an older C70 BE & also the original non-COSC AM DBR
