not a wind-up
not a wind-up
Winding ones CW choice of the day can be very therapeutic, but if you're like me, and are always in a rush in the mornings, having your auto primed and ready to go is a blessing. Treated myself to this beauty.

Re: not a wind-up
Looks good.
The title made me smile when I saw the C65 on the winder.

Trying not to buy any more watches...
Re: not a wind-up

Re: not a wind-up
Very nice piece of kit, but a question for the techies...should a manual watch be on a winder?

Re: not a wind-up
Looks like a decent winder unit.
My question is what duration settings you have?
I don't see there being a problem as there's no rotor/internal movement.

There's, perhaps obviously, no benefit to having it on a winder.Amor Vincit Omnia wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 11:32 am Very nice piece of kit, but a question for the techies...should a manual watch be on a winder?

Re: not a wind-up
I would think it ok as simulating random wearing positions, maybe even helps with timekeeping?Amor Vincit Omnia wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 11:32 am Very nice piece of kit, but a question for the techies...should a manual watch be on a winder?

Re: not a wind-up
As ever, opinions on these things are legion. I haven't a clue myself, but though I had read somewhere that you shouldn't, hence why I raised it.

The Watch Winder Smith version of this is £190 on Amazon. I got this Klarstein one on Ebay for £115!!
Four settings.....
1920 TPD clockwise 6 min, 30 min pause repeat
1920 TPD c/clockwise same
3600 TPD 3 hours, 10 mins clockwise, 10 mins c/clockwise, 9 hours pause, repeat
4800 TPD 20 mins c/clockwise, 10 mins pause, 20 mins clockwise, 10 mins pause, repeat
Bamboo and brushed steel goes well and it's almost silent.

Re: not a wind-up
Thanks for the info.
When I was looking I was specifically after one with the setting 3600 TPD 3 hours, 10 mins clockwise, 10 mins c/clockwise, 9 hours pause, repeat so that I could switch it on and leave it, ensuring that the 9 hours pause was overnight.
I ended up with a JQUEEN unit:

Details about it (albeit a different colour): https://www.amazon.co.uk/JQUEEN-Automat ... ooghydr-21

I'm probably well overdue an SOTC but just waiting on one watch to be built/arrive before revealing all
Re: not a wind-up
That is some collection and the boxes are beautiful. Do you own an Aston Martin DB5 in silver by any chance?

That's a good looking winder and think the C65 Vintage Diver fills the space admirably until your next automatic is incoming!! Perhaps something in the NN sale might work
