Any mini reviews welcome.
I've read and watched a few online, but would like some trustworthy feedback on here
I confess to being a serial Kraken fan. I bought the H1 and flipped it very quickly. Why? Because the titanium bracelet and case are lighter than prefer.

When the H2 came out I committed to a Meteorite dial which comes with a different movement. Yes there was delay but frankly I resign myself to delay with any kickstarter project.

Anyway it arrived and, once again the bracelet in particular didn't appeal. Titanium links dont slip past each other in the same way as stainless steel. I persisted and I'm glad that I did.

My H2 gets worn in rotation, it's light in weight, it's tough and with the Meteorite dial it's a bit different. So it's staying. The lume is leagues ahead of any CW offering.

I’m definitely not going for the H3. Apart from the similarity to the H2, I’m slightly aggrieved at the £25 shipping. Seems like UK backers are subsidising overseas backers.

Guaranteed next day with Royal Mail is less than half of that.

It was £10 for last campaign which for overseas was underestimated. My package with 3 watches was £8.90ish Special Delivery, so for UK £10 was acceptable.

However, looking at the campaign I don’t think he’ll miss my pledge. I hope he learns from last campaign because for someone who has used Kickstarter previously, his processes were dreadful. This is in reference to his updates, his attitude to criticism, replies to queries etc.

I would be amazed if any watches are received before Easter next year.

Actually I’m more interested in the watches that Guy might put in Sales Corner, at least he is more customer focused.

I could not agree more. After ready some of the whiny post made on FB brand groups I would never buy from them out of principle.

I agree that seems unreasonable, however if you think that is bad, some joker on eBay has listed a C11 Elite for £750 plus £75 postage (by Hermes). Mind you I think that listing has been on for some time, not surprisingly!

Mid-yesterday Thursday 23rd I got a marketing email along the lines of "There's still time to......" so I had a look and I rather get the impression that orders for the GMT version have slowed right down. :silent:

It may be that it’s because the movement in the GMT is unknown at this point. Only states “with a Swiss GMT movement”. The price point available now brings it pretty much in line with the Steinhart Titanium Pro 500 GMT.

The other option has a PT5000 automatic movement, never heard of this anywhere before this campaign.

Well we're all slaves to the Swiss for movements and chocolate

The Steiny is established, has following, yes, agreed.

As to the PT5000 I just picked this out of the google search results: https://www.geckota.com/blog/the-pt5000-movement/

Has anybody been reading the comments on Kickstarter about Ross Davis and his Hamtun projects.

Seems to be getting worse by the day. Someone even asking about filing a Class Action suit against him personally.

I sold mine awhile ago to avoid any potential warranty issues down the line.

H2 - some still haven’t received watches.

H3 - no recent updates. I nearly backed this one when campaign launched. So glad I didn’t.

It seems he has list loads of goodwill.

Pity really, because they were nice watches for the price.

Yes, I sold my H2 for the same reasons plus the much discussed bracelet clasp seemed unlike to ever see the light of day.

The H2 was overall good value when it finally materialised and a second-hand one out of warranty might still be a good buy, but as the first buyer for whom the warranty looked pretty unlikely to ever be honoured, it had to go.

I feel for Ross. Had the Kickstarter not been over-egged and they had far more backers than could be managed as a singleton, plus CV19 taking its toll and reportedly family issues to contend with, the Hamtun brand might not have taken such a kicking.
