This! An El Primero has been a ‘grail’ of mine for years and I recently discovered this version from 2016, although I’d prefer to see it on Zeniths black rubber strap :cuinlove:

Paul from the position of the date wheel I think it is the bigger version, not the 38.

Yep, it’s 42mm. The Cotes Geneve stripes on the dial just take it into the ‘something different’ category for me so I could fulfil grail and different in one watch :D

I prefer the pale dial version, and I like the 3 tones of blue special edition. I checked the prices on chrono24 a while back, and they seem more expensive now.

There's a nice variant on eBay at the moment. Black dial with 3 white subdials, in a black ceramic case. 2018, but listed as unused.

The 3 shades of blue is the A386 Revival I think? Fantastic looking watch. To be honest I don’t think there’s an El Primero that I don’t like the look of but this one from 2016 with the striped looking dial just steps it away a little for me. Watch this space! :D

I tried this one on when I bought my El Primero from Owen Robinson in Leeds. This is the El Primero classic cars model but I found the Geneva stripes a bit too much and preferred the plain silver dial version. Still a great looking watch though.

Now the Formex Essence 39 is pre-ordered and underway for Feb, which had been the watch I'd been dreaming about, I'm looking around for people to "blame"....

Jon (jtc) and Neil (nbg) I am looking at you.

Mulling over these two. They are in very different price points. Do I slim the collection down a little and go for the real thing or buy the homage?ImageImage
