So this is one I have been dreaming about for quite some time, only it has been a 43mm piece which is too much watch for my skinny wrist. I had an inkling a smaller one was coming and now it has, in 39mm, with some small changes and their new re-branding and logo which look smart to these eyes. Currently on pre-order with first 100 with a nice leather strap and this bracelet extra at no-cost. Looks a real nice bracelet based on reviews of the 43. I have no. 7 :)
Movement is SW200 Chronometer grade with papers. Those "bolt-heads" in the 4 "corners" are suspension towers for the case suspended in the frame. There is also an on-the-fly micro-adjust for both leather and bracelet. Formex is out of Biele in Switzerland and well, I'm just nuts for this watch.

That’s really rather nice, Chris, and looks to be a quality product. Especially more attractive given the smaller size.

Thank you Steve :)
Everything I can establish points at this being a Good Watch, through and through. As most anybody here can identify, some watches just whisper in your ear and this one does.

I've been a bit AWOL recently, the workload has been somewhat incredible. But better that than what too many are suffering and going without.

I think that looks much better proportions than the previous version.

Doesn’t seem to be up on the website yet (unless I missed it)

Well I'll be darned. I was only perusing their new Reef diver range a couple of days ago and thinking how they could do with a smaller version of the Essence.

The blue and "degrade" dials are lovely. Relatively new brand, but with a chromometer movement and the tech these watches feature, that really is a very decent price on bracelet.

Hmm ...

Hi, hope you are well. Yes I remembered afterwards that you acquired one, I know the white dial Pams get a mixed review but this and the creamy white dialed 42mm (Think maybe a Due) are both very attractive indeed and not as common. The 1940 white dial 42mm could easily be a 1 watch wearer (heaven forbid 1 watch hahaha).

Now you've had it a while, what's your ongoing opinion/impression?

I've seen the odd one come and go at reasonable prices when I wasn't in the position but most seem to be priced quite robustly at the moment.
I really like mine and I do mean really... My black 630 is a definite favourite, but the white has definitely pipped it. Part of that may be due to it still being a relatively recent purchase, but I think it has permanently displaced the black as my favourite Panerai - not that either one is in any danger of being sold. They are superbly comfortable on my 7.25” wrist - both are fitted with CW Bader straps, the white is a camel cordovan and the black a camel peccary, subtly different shades that match the lume beautifully.

Just quickly on the 39mm Essence. "Club" members got a 48hr head-start before official launch. It's up on the website now. 3 year guarantee too, not a given in its market segment. I think it's a brand going places. Regardless of what you make of the innovations/patents, they are doing interesting things.

I rather like their Reef too but I've enough divers at present, enjoying each of them, and am having a real honeymoon with my Direnzo, so the eyes are a bit diverted :)

I agree, lovely. However, I think it’s another one on this thread that I am happy to admire without desire. :D
