Thanx John!!..Bident wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 4:38 pmCongrats, Chuck! Really sweet piece.Thunder1 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 12:33 pm A new arrival for moi today...a Big Crown ProPilot Calibre 111(previously loved)...initial impressions are quite favorable, so far...the brushed SS case measures 44mm wide & it is about 13.85mm thick(so this isn't a small watch!!)...still, it fits comfortably on my wrist..the knurled bezel is a nice feature, as is the large screw-down crown & La. croc strap...being a fan of the PR sub dials, I like how it is executed on the anthracite colored face of this dial..the date at the 9 o'clock position is an interesting difference as well...

Very nice Chuck - a direct competitor to the CW C8PR, in-house calibre and PR indicator. I guess too much of a bargain to pass by?Thunder1 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 12:33 pm A new arrival for moi today...a Big Crown ProPilot Calibre 111(previously loved)...initial impressions are quite favorable, so far...the brushed SS case measures 44mm wide & it is about 13.85mm thick(so this isn't a small watch!!)...still, it fits comfortably on my wrist..the knurled bezel is a nice feature, as is the large screw-down crown & La. croc strap...being a fan of the PR sub dials, I like how it is executed on the anthracite colored face of this dial..the date at the 9 o'clock position is an interesting difference as well...

Another good looking Seiko.
Looks like you have a few.
I reckon it would be possible to put together a varied and interesting collection by sticking to Seiko alone.

Re: Non CW of the Day
Again, thanx!!..like you, I have a 'thing' for the PR indicator on watch faces...and yes, the allure of owning a sports-style watch w/ the Cal. 111 movement has been hard for me to ignore..in the seller's ad, he said he'd only worn it a dozen or so times, and by the look of it, I believe it..and I picked it up for only $2,375.00 plus tax & shipping...interestingly enough, the seller needed the $ to help fund the purchase of a Rolex Yacht Master!!..btw, the Oris Cal. 111 is much easier to wind compared to the CW SH21 movement..highly recommended if you have a wrist that can comfortably support a 44mm wide case..H0rati0 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 8:42 amVery nice Chuck - a direct competitor to the CW C8PR, in-house calibre and PR indicator. Nothing like a mesh bracelet and a black and white photo to make you think of the 60s.
