My First CW - a C5 Aviator

Post by TrevorB »

As instructed in Member Introductions, I've got a few pics of my first (?) one, a C5 Aviator - C5AWT MK2. Needless to say, I'm delighted with it and worryingly, already feel the urge to maybe get another CW.

Sorry, I'm not great at the photography bit, but could someone tell me why the "on the wrist" pictures seem to make the watch look bigger than in real life. I was a bit concerned about the size of the watches after looking at various gallery photos, but my picture definitely makes it look larger, and I suspect most wrist shots do for some reason.
Or is it just me?

Cheers,

Trevor.

I find the wrist shot the hardest to do. Must be that its an un-natural angle when taking a photo, as opposed to your normal view of the watch.

And so long as you like it (as you you obviously do) just enjoy it and your next, and next, and....

I believe I am giving the standard forum answer to this question when I say, "All of them!"

Your C5A looks sharp. I'm still trying to figure out which direction I want to go for the Aviator in my collection.

Nice pics Trevor, thanks.

You might want to get the fence repaired though.

Welcome Trevor. Good pics of a nice watch. Your wrist looks a bit wooden in the first 2 shots though.

Ah yes, the fence. I much prefer the (very) rustic look meself.

Easier than fixing it as well...............

And you're supposed to be looking at the watch, not the fence!!

Cheers.

Congratulations on a very nice watch, great pictures. Love my C5A mk1 and might have to add one of these to the collection at some point.

Very nice. Yes, wrist shots do tend to make the watch look much bigger in my experience. I've thought it was because I use the macro function, which makes things closest to the lens appear bigger. Just try taking a picture of your face with macro, and see how big the nose gets.
