Why am I lusting after this one so much lately??! Theres just so much about it that makes me want it. 21mm lugs are a bit of a pain but I think I could get past that

Here's my current object of watchly desire. These are getting rare so I may have to move quickly. Shame the bank balance disagrees.

I’ve been dreaming about the new C65 AM GT LE more and more since it was announced, so much so I’m trying to figure out a strategy to suggest this to my wife as a 50th birthday gift.

As I mentioned on Lindsey’s Post about the best thing about ones watch, my current CW was a wedding gift from my wife. As a consequence, she’s pretty sensitive about adding new watches to the stable!

I've only had 3 of them before, so I definitely need another!

A 512 or 620 but just not sure if I would get away with the 42mm case size.

If Patrick (@Thegreyman) can comfortably wear a 45mm Panerai (I recall), then sure as eggs is eggs you can wear a 42mm, Paul.

Paul you could get away with wearing one of those.

Like all watch choices it’s a personal call.

The 512 is the closest I have come to buying a Panerai. Another near miss being a 42mm Submersible.

There are plenty with a wrist the same size or smaller who are happy to wear a 42mm or 44mm PAM.

Equally there are plenty with a slightly larger wrist, who still can’t get over the all dial style.

I know someone who used to view anything over 40mm as too big for his liking. IIRC he now has 3 or 4 Panerai, including the larger ones.

As to the 512, just imagine wearing a C11, with about 2mm off the lug to lug.

You could certainly wear it Paul, you should try one on, if you can get to a Panerai boutique. There are definitely a few more PAM's around on the forum than there were a few years ago. Those photo show what a beautiful watch it is.

Yes Guy, mine is 44mm and iirc is either the same or 1mm less L2L than a 42mm CW C11.

Pics on my 7.25” wrist Paul. Nice and slim too, making them very wearable. The 655 is the same size as the 620.

Great pics Gary.
A minor stumbling block even assuming the size were to work ok is the large sum of cash that is needed (6k ish) As you know in the past I would have sacrificed 1 or two of my currents to fund it but I find myself in the really weird (for me ) situation where I really like my 4 main watches and dont want to sell them at this point
