^^^ I wonder if they are measuring to the top of the raised rear part of the seat - rather than the bit you actually sit on?

My GS is 870mm (at the seat) and I wouldn't want anything taller.

I'm fairly sure it is from that steeped rear end but the rest isn't much below.

May I be forward and ask your inside leg measurement.

Well after knowing each other for a decade or so, I guess I’m ok with it. I’m around 32”.

However, I think quite a lot of this depends on the width and shape of the seat as well as height. Also, the amount of suspension sag etc... in short, there’s only on way to find out.

^^^Arlingham. I often end up there on one of my cycle jaunts, Rich.

Didn’t go that route today though. Joined the road to Arlingham, about halfway down and turned left, ignoring the ‘road closed’ sign and, thankfully, was able to walk through the roadworks and get back to Frampton. Nice warm ride of 23miles in the end.

Thanks Scooter. Very tempting to change for a newer water-cooled GS but I struggle with the business case when this one refuses to misbehave. One of my favourite Sunday morning rides with though the Forest of Dean and down through the Wye Valley and back across the Severn bridge, but I fear those Welsh roads are closed to ‘foreigners’ for the moment.

Lovely photos Steve. I saw the Passage at Arlingham was for sale- don’t know if it’s been for sale for a while or due to Covid-related footfall. The locally-owned Red Lion in Arlingham seemed to be full-steam ahead selling take-away meals. I walked around the Severn loop last year. Stunning views looking down the Severn from the Southern side. Might try to revisit soon- less than 2 miles easy walk from the Saul car park.

Rich

Seems sensible to stay as you are with your model.

Had a little ride out on The Focus in the heat of the afternoon.

I did a 37 miler but only briefly stopped to take a photograph of Bruton Dovecote.

Hi Rich, I noticed that The Passage was for sale last time I popped over but seem to think that it might have been a tad before lockdown so probably not the driving factor?
Haven’t done the Severn Loop on foot. Need to give it a go sometime.

Lovely bike. Classic big bruiser looks. Some of the road surfacing looks to need a bit of attention.

Yes, not the best road - but fine for pottering along waiting for the sheep to move.
