I just received my 60 GMT. I wound it up and then adjusted it to my local time here in in Bangkok with the GMT hand set on European time, i.e. 5 hours behind. To my amazement, the GMG hand did not move at all and stayed the same all the time. I wore the watch for a few hours, changed the time again, still, GMT hand stuck and no move.
Has anybody else made this experience? Did i do something wrong when setting the time?
Look forward for a response.
Thanks.
Urs

Re: Problem with 24 hour hand
Welcome to the forum.
Not sure I can help on this, as I don't have a CW GMT watch, but I'm sure someone who does ought to be along soon to help.

Re: Problem with 24 hour hand
Welcome to the forum Urs. GMT's are not my area of expertise, but I can say that this is definitely not normal behaviour for an ETA 2893 movement. I do not know what is causing this issue, but I don't think it is anything you will be able to correct yourself. Unfortunately, I think you will have to return to watch to CW for warranty repair.

Re: Problem with 24 hour hand
I have one but don’t understand the finer mechanics of the movement. It sounds as if the gearing that drives the GMT hand may not be engaging.

Re: Problem with 24 hour hand
I agree, it sound like a warranty issue, unfortunately.
To narrow down the problem, does the GMT hand rotate when the main hands are rotated using the crown?
