Well built hommage. Very functional timepiece indeed.

2nd that, well built Homage for sure.
Cheers, Mike.

Well built dive watch, which just happens to look more similar to another’s brands iconic dive watch, than other brands versions of similar watches. Makes no attempt to deceive and pretend it is anything other than what it is.
A rather long winded way of saying that there is nowt wrong with a Steinhart!

I run with the homage view. Until a few months ago, I owned the real deal, a no-date Rolex Sub. I’ve since sold it, and I’ve bought a couple of really good quality homages to different Sub models. The don’t pretend to actually be Rolexes, but they (very) clearly take their styling from the Sub.
Of course, I’m also not averse to buying an homage for a model I *still* own...

Copy Watch. You don't pay homage to something by ripping off someone else's design to make a profit.neil8fletcher3 wrote:Fake Rolex or well built hommage what's the general consensus?

Not so much day dreaming but night dreaming.
Have read and posted on the three current Moonwatch / Speedmaster threads late last night (in the hour before going bed), I couldn't get this out of my mind and was dreaming watches all night.

^^^^^ One of my favourite pics Guy. Broad Arrow perched on wall of roof terrace in Camerasa.
I enjoyed wearing the watch for over four years, I hope that you do likewise.
Strange thing this collecting lark. Had I managed to persuade our Australian mate Gary to sell his white BA, I would have kept mine, as I like pairs.

@neil8fletcher3 - funny old thing watches, Neil.
Following @gaf1958's post in the Non-CW thread, I've got thoughts too of getting an Orient Mako.
Between the Mako and the Ocean One its a bit chalk & cheese though as they are different to look at and at different price levels.
Do you want a Sub look-a-like or something original?
Food for thought.

^^^ and if you'd prefer sub-like looks, but Mako pricepoint then look at the Ray

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
I had a first version mako which I moved on. I like the fact the new one has got rid of the date pusher and it now hacks and hand winds. I know the steinhart isnt an original design but the look appeals to me and I'm in no position to buy a sub. I'm not sure what it is about the ray but it doesn't appeal to me. I'd best think things over
