Ha, came to post this. I like, but I wouldn't buy or wear...
Re: Nomos Glashutte Introduce The Autobahn Collection
I also spotted this new collection yesterday and was struck by the quality of the dials and the luminous ring but the price of GBP3800.00 is just too steep.

If I was in the market for this "type" of watch I think I'd rather go for an Autodromo http://www.autodromo.com/watches/ which offers better value for money...particular like the Stradale collection.
Having said that, I'd much rather have a CHOPARD Mille Miglia

For some its a case of not having anywhere left to go inside the niche they create, bell and Ross equally having issues with their style of design and fighting to keep their brand image but grow at the same time, Bremont seem to be doing much better. Breitling (and I'd add Omega but to a lesser extent) however seem to be losing their minds Joaquin Pheonix style and will probably have to reinvent themselves once more as Zenith has done countless times.Tyke wrote:Another watchmaker losing the plot

I miss all the great things that may never be.

bauhaus + motorsport = too many design cues on the one dial
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

Nomos Glashutte Introduce The Autobahn Collection
I like the curved rehaut and the matching curve on the subdial, those aspects look really good. The sixties Omega Dynamic styled “bullseye” feature doesn’t really work as it’s only a partial bullseye, interrupted by the seconds subdial. It “kinda, sorta” works. It would probably have worked well in a three hander, it looks a bit unbalanced here, which is probably why the monochrome version works best to my eyes.
It’s not a bad attempt, but a bit half-baked. The price however would simply have me looking everywhere else but at it... As much as it has some nice design cues, overall it’s a fail to me.

Re: Nomos Glashutte Introduce The Autobahn Collection
The minute hand is way too skinny, I think there could be legibility issues.
The design is too confused and the price just mad.

Re: Nomos Glashutte Introduce The Autobahn Collection
If you took away the inner curve blocks, narrowed the window to show only one date and changed the hands to something slightly more legible without losing the simple character then I think you have a winner.
With one or two exceptions, Baselworld is looking pretty bad this year.

Agreed.
Yes, I'm a Nomos fan and I must agree they are losing their way.
This follows on from their "grey" range, sorry can't remember the collection name and doesn't do Nomos
any favours.
For the reasons mentioned above, that minute hand would drive me crazy!
