C5 SKK MK1 Automatic #2262

Post by MiniMpi »

I picked up a beautiful C5 MK1 Automatic from Rich the other day.
I Love the watch and it will be pressed into service for work duties when I return from holidays.
I picked up a great handmade strap from Watchgecko on their eBay shop for just £16 as they were selling off old stock.
Very soft and lovely and I think it suits the Malvern well.
I wound it fully yesterday and after 24 hours is running absolutely bang on 0+/- !!
Outstanding especially from a five year old watch.

The watch is great Ferg.

What I can't tell is if I like the strap. From the wrist shot it looks good, but from the other angles it looks a bit bulky. Do you like it? Is it just the angles that make it look bulky?

It's the angle of the photo Kip.
It's not bulky at all, very soft and I think really suits the watch. Follows the elegant look of the watch as it tapers to 14mm at the buckle end.
Very happy with the watch :)

Currently listed version of the strap is 4mm thick.

Classic handmade Italian strap

Arguably a tad thick for a C5, but if Ferg likes it that is all that matters.

Great watch for you Ferg, by the way.

My preference is for the Aviator version, as you know, but mine's in nowhere near as good condition as yours.

I was hoping it was just the angles of the photos because the wrist shot looks terrific. I am very happy for you Ferg.

Thanks Guy & Kip
The link to the strap is this one actually :
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301869846556
Considerably cheaper at only £16 compared to £40 on their own website.

Thanks Ferg.

The straps are subtly different. Yours has a V of stitching at the end, whereas the new one has a Triangle shape. There is also a difference in the range of colours.

When looking at the mobile website I can't specifically pull up the 'Sale' items, which I know are there on PC browser.

Will have a look later.

I thought there were slight differences alright but wasn't sure.

Loving the watch, way more than I thought I would ask it being 38mm. I think the fact that it is nearly all dial helps significantly.
Very happy Ferg :)

I picked up a standard length alligator pattern 18mm Bader Strap in the recent sale for my C5 MK1 Automatic.

Very happy with the look of it with the watch, suits the MK1 well I think.
