Some subtle but great improvements. Love the symmetry and the date at 6. The blue dial with the light blue accents are just right as well.

Perfect as an everyday watch, this may be the grail..

Vertical stripes are slimming.

I suppose they had to make some changes otherwise they would have nothing to do.

You can just picture the meeting where they all sat round coming up with ideas:
'hey, we could make the stripes go the other way'
'yeah, what about moving the date window to 6?'
'let's go mad and make the crown a funny shape!'
'some of the seconds numbers could be a different colour'
'what the hell boys - let's do all of these'
Slaps on backs all round, chip off early to the pub.

i read this review because the AT is on my list of watches that people gush about that i just don't 'get'.... i understand that it is an omega classic and hugely popular but i'm not enamoured with the case, and the hour hand still to me looks as if it has been sawn off somehow....(just me, and i'm not knocking the many many who own one)...

but i like this iteration for the fact that it does seem to be a genuine fresh iteration, and not just a lazy reissue of a watch with a new dot of a different colour here and there, for example... i like the change of symmetry to the horizontal lines of the dial and the 6o'clock date window, and the pared down case shape around the crown... well done to omega for coming up with something with all the DNA of the original that actually feels fresh and new

(do i get away with the fact that i just owned up to not 'getting' the AT???)

edit: i don't think the gold and steel with integrated rubber strap is a very good look
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Master Chronometer Review

Just

I like the AT, but prefer the original, with its much slimmer case. I've owned 2 of the current style, but the thicker case is just not as (and I very much hesitate to use the word about an inanimate* object) ... sexy.

* Although a watch can be described as having a beating heart... bad pun.

How to trash one of the greatest looking watches Omega have ever made...... Do everything they have just done to the AT.

The only good thing about this is if they do some nice deals on the old style ones that would allow me to pick up a 15,000 Gauss model for cheaper than the £4400 rrp, which at 10% more than a standard model for a prettier colour scheme and a fancy second hand really is a rip-off too far.

I like it but if I didn't know it was official I'd have called it a fake. Some strange proportions going on including the hands.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

If it's stripey dial day you cannot do better "for a daily beater"   than the original Lew & Huey Cerberus. I'm not sure I've ever met anyone who chips in CHF 5500+ and understands the role of "daily beater". Really!

Fair play to Omega though - who ever thought of putting a nasty looking rubber strap on a gold case?
