Congrats. Neil. Keep looking at the expedition scout or the military ones from the Timex Archive editions.

Looked at one of these admiringly today:

Whereupon my other half looked at it for a long while, and said there wasn't a single thing that was good about it, and that it looked like a Breitling gone wrong.

Bugger to get hold of though Bern. Dornblueth however will possibly do a very similar, non Gorch, one off version utilising the same case and slightly altered dial. They are extremely accommodating!

It is the Gorch Fock model. A limited edition run of 75 units built to help out in the reconstruction of the Gorch Fock 1 Historical Tall Ship.

Although the case is "officially" 47mm, it wears significantly smaller than that, probably equivalent to about 44mm.

She was lovely on the wrist, but at the time was over Eur 15k.

The one off case and dial would be around Eur 1800 over standard 99 calibre cost, which whilst seemingly expensive, would be reasonable to have a one off made for me watch!

There may however be one last original GF down the back of Mr Dornblueths sofa. They are checking, but god only knows what the price would be. Probably terrifying, but we shall see.

Owned one of those for about a month Neil. Superb watch. Thought it better than my speedy on the whole.
