Three 22mm rubber straps: but for which watch?

Post by tikkathree »

These were in my strap box, I am just not a rubber strap fan.

All three are 22mm lug width. The outer two are curved ended, the weave-effect Italian rubber one in the middle is straight lug.
Quel suprise - the logos differ and the strap on the right - with one keeper - has a black buckle.

I don't know where they belong and in one sense they may just go with the three C600 Tritech Elites but it would be nice to have it confirmed by an expert.

Thank you.[THUMBS UP SIGN] ImageImageImage

One on the right is almost certainly for a C600, the one on the left the same other than it's a stainless buckle so could it be a C60 or a C6 strap? The middle one could be for a number of different CW's so will pass on that.

I know the center strap was shipping on the C7's/70's at one point.

My wife has one of the centre ones on a C60, I had something similar without the pattern on a Makaira so it's been used on a fair few models. Have seen it on C7 / 70's as well, could be from your Vanwall?

The one on the left looks like an original C600 TriTech strap.

The one in the middle originally appeared on the C700 Automatic, that's when I first saw it. Although after about 6 months to a year on, it was available on all other motorsport watches as far as I remember.

The one on the right looks very much like the rubber dive strap they used to have on the C60's (original version). Not the very first release of that watch, but around late 2012 I ordered a C60 and it came on that strap.

Hope that helps! My memory has it's purposes on the odd occasion.

You are all splendidly helpful fellows, thank you. And Mrs Tyke of course!

I can't really see a C7/C70 on rubber but that's probably my taste. It certainly didn't come with my C70 Vanwall which is on its orginal strap and somewhere is a new item which I think I nabbed in a sale.

Unless there's something else in its box the green hand C600 Tri-tech will be going on one of them.

Makaira? Straight lugs would make sense there.

Yes, thank you everyone!!

To confirm what has already been mentioned.

C11 Makaira had a straight end plain strap, at least my Elite version did.

The Italian pattern, I prefer to think of it as Carbon Fibre pattern, would be for a C700.

The fitted end straps will be for C6, early C60 or C600. Take your pick as buckles can always be swapped.

nice if you dive or swim...in that case i think it's better than the metal bracelet, and leather...or a nato...

but does C ward have a rubber with a deplyoment buccle (engraved with the brand)?

No deployant clasp on CWL rubber straps.

Just regular buckles.

Just to add a bit more anorak to this post, the outside two are 100% C60 Mk1.
C600 rubber straps had round holes (as opposed to square) and a black steel buckle (as opposed to alloy shown in pics).
