Yema are back:
At least I think they disappeared for a bit - and guess how they are making their comeback? That's right - vintage reissues! Yaaaay! (or is that yaaawn?)

The new superman diver has got what it takes though.

I like that DM , very nice . Seiko owned these at one time . Nice to see them back out there again .

I think thats very nice, and with all the other brands revising their heritage models why not. More choice is good so I'm happy to see them back, would be nice to see one in the metal.

At that price it could be DM . To be honest I don't really know anything about their "in house movement" . The models they have on Amazon seem to have Japanese automatic movements .

I have found that the same movement is used by Yonger & Bresson . This from WUS .

Re: Yema are back:
Further digging suggests Ambre group who own Y-B and now Yema after they went bust having been brough out from Seiko by the previous owner decided to make their own movement. Yonger previously used Seagull movements.tempusmaximus wrote:I have found that the same movement is used by Yonger & Bresson . This from WUS .

To me it looks very clearly machined in China and perhaps assembled in France or probably not even that, just designed by Chinese watch makers to Ambres specs and shipped over. No real clear info which more than likely means they are hiding the fact it is made in China. Edit: Going with Made in China and assembled in France.

I would also go with that . I always try to keep up with new movements , but as you say , there is very little information on this one .Dancematt wrote:Edit: Going with Made in China and assembled in France.

Re: Yema are back:
It just looks very Chinese, and they designed and built that from scratch in two years? Come on. I would personally think they just stick the rota on in France and time it otherwise that's a lot of work/ staff on European wages, can't pump out watches at that price when paying for all that.tempusmaximus wrote:I would also go with that . Furthermore the main page for the superman says 'Sapphire Crystal' but the spec for each watch say mineral crystal
Using code: FDP10 which gives 10% discount makes them £275ish.

I totally agree . I have seen this movement before , but never tied it to Yema . It does look very Chinese however .Dancematt wrote:It just looks very Chinese

Re: Yema are back:
Used by Yema now because Ambre group have brought the Yema name. I suspect Ambre group also have Chinese backing.tempusmaximus wrote:I totally agree . I have seen this movement before , but never tied it to Yema . It does look very Chinese however .Dancematt wrote:It just looks very Chinese
