IWC's are classy watches no doubt but this collection leaves me fairly cold. I think it is the chunky hands and the square chrono pushers that immediately catch the eye (in a bad way). I know it's hardly a competitor but I think I'd rather have a new C3 (ideally an FLE panda  ) and buy a Omega Moonwatch with the saving.

I far prefer the original vintage Ingenieur pictured in the article.

Generally speaking, I am a big fan of IWC, and although the three hander is perhaps a bit plain, I do like the chronographs. Will be interesting to see some real-life pictures.

Redesigning icons to look like every other watch in yours or anyone else's range is not a good idea imo. Lacking spark. It should at least say ingenuier on the dial, could be any old iwc.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

The original Ingenieur range was distinctive. This range isn't, so it does feel like a retrograde step.

I liked the 40mm 3 hand ingenieur with its quirky bezel, crown guards and integrated bracelet.

Well done IWC - I certainly don't like this new take on a classic!

That's what I thought too! The former on order, the latter now on the wrist. :D
However, those IWC chronographs are gorgeous.

Not inspired by any of them.

One query.

Why is it that most / many watch manufacturers are releasing 'Vintage Inspired' watch designs this year? Can't they think of anything new?

I'd love to see a proper long term review of the new 7750-analog chrono movement. I feel like making it just good enough was a mistake: too small power reserve and too plain. They should have made it a central minute hand like Lemania 5100 of old or Breguet Type XXI.

As 3239 owner I should be happy about desirability of my watch against the new meh one in case I want to sell it.
