Can anyone recommend a watch restorer?

Post by wvs411 »

My Father passed away over Christmas and one of his possessions was the watch given to him by my Mother for his 18th Birthday.
There is no real value to the watch but I can remember him wearing it when I was a small child and would like to try and have it restored for my mother and maybe to wear myself. The watch in question is a Cyma in 18ct gold and it would date from 1962.

Sorry to hear of your fathers passing.

I am certain that a few suggestions will come along for your area.

Greetings,

Sorry to hear about your father.

Not sure exactly where you are but have a look at the BHI list of watch repairers..................

http://bhi.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/201 ... .01.17.pdf,

I'm sure your mother will be pleased with your intention.

Thank you for your responses and kind wishes! BerlinCW the BHI register is very useful.

I'll take before and after photos and post them in a while.

If you find a good one, let me know. I have an ancient wind-up watch handed down to me when my own dad died. I wouldn't have thought it's worth anything, but I'd still like to get it properly serviced and cleaned. I live in Nottingham
