So my choice will be the much coveted Dolphins.

I already own a very nice, comfortable Canford , this version will be the icing on the cake
They are lovely watches aren't they! I am delighted with mine.

I don't have the dolphins, ;) but I do have the blue dial and it is just lovely.

Totally agree cincfleet and smegwina. Great watches.

A fascinating piece of detail is the green / yellow / red indicies dots that replicate, so I am told, the markings on a Snorkel Barometer. Additionally, the mottled relief to the dolphin logo.

Sadly, I will never qualify to own either of these, so will have to make do with my other Elliot Brown watches.

I've been on the GS trail this week. A lot of very similar watches (IMO) and they occupy similar territory to my Aqua Terra pair, so it's hard to justify one.

However, I've been offered a decent(ish) deal on two LE models...

The hi beat GMT SBGJ021, which is a lovely colour

And the slightly older SBGR097, which has a far more subtle dial than shown in these garish pictures...

The Bulova Moon Watch, one of which is whizzing its way to me via Amazon across the Atlantic.

Thanks to Nordwolf for the heads up in the moon watch thread! - Good man.

Can I ask how easy it is to buy from Amazon US. Presume they ship to the UK but how much do they charge for postage and will there be customs charges? Also can you use you Amazon UK account to buy? Thanks

Hi Richard, two lovely looking Grand Seikos they are fantastic looking watches and seem to have a presence on the wrist I don't think you would regret getting one.

Hiya.

I normally use the amazon android app, and it could not be simpler, however if you are using the browser, the process is the same. (I have used both numerous without any issues)

Login as usual.

Goto the menu and hit change country. Select USA.

Search Bulova moon watch.

Select the item (the system knows you are in the UK and will automatically tell you if they deliver to the UK , - Amazon US always do and only a tiny, tiny fraction of third party resellers don't)

Once selected, the system tells you the sales price, the shipping price, the duty payable, and automatically converts to GBP.

When you hit buy, you pay for the item, shipping and the duty all at once. (this last part is important as it means there are no issues when the item clears customs

The process takes no longer than using the UK site.

It normally takes 9-14 days for delivery.

For the Moonwatch I paid.

Watch - 230gbp
Shipping - 10gbp
Duty - 53gbp

Grand total of about 295 quid and expected delivery is 30th December.

Simples.

I'm sure you are right, Kevin. Today, I've been thinking IF I got a GS I should go the whole way and get a Spring-Drive... I will revisit the AD later this week.

Thanks that's really helpful, didn't realise it was that easy. Even allowing for duty still a great price.

Tried one of these this morning:

What a surprisingly nice watch. Loads of presence but very wearable and a great dial.

Sadly, due to forex rates, even with an excellent discount, the US price was worse than UK, so it didn't happen. If I see one in a U.K. Sales though....

^^^ I also thought it would wear too large, but apart from the height (ok, and the weight :) ), it was very wearable at 46mm ish lug to lug.

Height, check. Weight, check. Both reasons I no longer have mine.
