Stopped by a microbrand meetup today

Post by gwells »

Tried on and checked out a few different micros. It was packed in there. Some interesting stuff as well as some watches that I didn't bother with.

I rather like the Aevig. Looked the the NTH watches when the were on pre-order, but decided against them, although one of them (champagne) was quite tempting.

Would be very useful to see these in real life though and get an idea of what they're really like.

i said elsewhere my biggest issue with the aevig is that the crowns seem too large for me. the watch itself looks very nice in person, though. and i like the blue. very subtle.

I think they're one of the few to get the crowns close to just right. Most modern interpretations of the Super Compressors fall short with the crowns being too small IMO. I guess goes to show how different we all are in what we like.

First time I've seen those NTH, they're pretty good too and I might even prefer the crowns used there. I wish someone would make a 36mm modern take on the SC. Anyway thanks for the pics, would love to be able to venture into a meet-up like that.

[EDIT] just had a look, man this one is nice.

^^ That's the model I was tempted by, but reality and discretion got the upper hand...

I like the Aevig , the crowns are a little large imo , but that wouldn't put me off .
