An impulse purchase

Post by Tally »

So after mulling over and waiting for my first auto, keep watching the tridents etc etc on CW...

There is a jewellers shop that is an AD for Rolex, Omega etc..... nothing in that lofty highs in my realm, but I kept seeing Alpina's and did like the look of the Seastrong orange but at over £1200 it put paid to that plan..... or did it?

over the last couple of weeks I saw they were discounting them so today I went in and the chap their said they are selling off the last of their Alpina range, I try it on...great feel and look, nicely weighted and my heart skipped a beat.

Do I ? Don't I ?

Well I did.... I've not told the other half yet as I also had a bit of bad news from a close friend as I arrived outside home

more pics later but here's one before I figure out how to explain my impulse to my beloved

Sorry about the and news.

But that is a good looking watch! I've always liked Frederique Constant and Alpina. Almost bought one but bought my CW instead.

More pics pls! :)

That's sad news for your friend, I'm sure he won't take anything bad from your text.

The Alpina looks lovely, quite an original look

Nice looking watch.

I would be anxious and be prepared to spend on handbags, shoes or whatever.

Sorry to hear about your friends loss.

It's a very interesting Alpina, is the dial colour blue or black? Not a great fan of the date window but the rest more than makes up for that and it wouldn't put me off.

Its a black dial, it was the date window that clinched it for me... something a little different.

Better couple of shots of it today, at 44mm my first thoughts were it would look too big on my wrist
