Spotted this over at the timezone forum.
Lovely
Sadly, rare to acquire and budget (especially with the exchange rate) doesn't permit!

blowfish89 wrote: As for the Speedy Pro, the size and fit for me is great (wears smaller than its 42mm would suggest) but the aesthetics/design is just too bland for me. I cannot imagine looking at this watch again and again and just staring at it. I understand it was intended to be that way and the design has continued since several decades, but it does nothing for me. The hands are simple needles, I absolutely hate the tachymeter (since I have no use for it and it just clutters the watch), and I'm not a big fan of the handwinding either. though I could live with it. The only thing I like is the depressed subdials and caseback with bragging rights.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

^^^ Sometimes our tastes change or mature. At one stage in recent years I only wanted watches that were bright, blingy and 45mm +
Now I'm selling watches at 40mm because they are too big and buying watches that I wouldn't have looked at as little as 2 years ago. Still it's funny what we say...

I think some of the variations on the original Speedmaster are growing on me.

The original Speedmaster is the best looking watch on the planet as far as I'm concerned. It's absolutely timeless in terms of design; it's continuously bang on trend.
It's also a watch that suits any occasion. I just love it.

Is the speedmaster trendy?

I haven't done much watch daydreaming for a while, but if I did I might be thinking of this bimetal on a bracelet.

I still think the Speedy is very bland and I cannot imagine looking at that thing everyday. Its just the older one with patina which made it somewhat interesting, but its still boring enough with the rest of it that it is below the threshold for me to buy it.
No, not trendy Pete
