Recommend a screw driver for removing link on c5

Post by kc104 »

I have a C5 in gold bracelet and need to take out one of the links. Have no fear, I have done this many times before. However, I have never come across a bracelet where they are screw pins, and the screws are SOOOO small. I do not have a small enough screw driver for the job, so wonder if anyone one here would recommend a screw driver, that I could pick up over the net or a well known store.

I think they are spit pins not screws, push them out in the direction of the arrow (against the smooth end) with a bracelet tool, these are only a fiver on the bay. IF you try to do it without you could screw up the bracelet big time!

Erm, are you sure. They have the cross hairs (well you know, not philips, but a single dash), thus it looks like they are screws. Before I try taking the pin out via a push with a tool (which I have) could someone give me a difinitive answer on that one

rcherryuk, that was not meant to sound like, me telling you that you may not know.

It was just that you said 'I think'. So I was not sure if you were saying, 'Yes I know for sure' or 'I think, but can not say for definate'. came out a bit wrong is all

Afraid I can't say for sure either (as I don't have a C5 bracelet). However, I believe ALL CW bracelets use push pins, not screw fixings...

If there's arrow markings on the inside of the bracelet and "cross hairs" on only one end of the fixings... I'd go with the split pins theory.

(I'm just someone else who doesn't have a C5 bracelet)

I have a C5 gold bracelet and can definitely confirm that it is split pin. As the pin is a piece of metal that is basically bent in half then one end can look like it is a screw head.

Possibly the bracelets on the mens watches do but my missus' S3 has screws.
