CW dilemma (what to keep)

Post by Crocs477 »

hi guys

I really feel like I'm in the asylum now, as I've bought 3 CWs (all on clearance in the last week). I think I will likely keep 2 of them but haven't decided yet (all 3 have to arrived yet). I have the C70 VW, C11 titanium and C65 rose gold on bracelet all coming.

Currently I have a
1) Omega PO
2) Uboat left hook
3) tag Aqua racer 500m chrono
4) ocean 7 LM5
5) CW JH3
6) vintage omega constellation in gold (34mm)
7) vintage Rolex royal oyster precision (34mm)
8) pebble time (which I often wear during the week to work as a beater)

Upon reflecting on my collection, I wonder if I have a place for the c65 as I have enough dress watches and already have one large dress watch (the c9 JH3). The C11 plays a similar role as my Uboat also as a large rugged tool watch, since I will not be diving. The C70 I will likely keep, as nice to have a Quartz around and I like the heritage of it. Guys, what do you think I should do?

yep i'd lose the c65 as you have similar. uboat and c11 extreme are vastly different watches and the vw is going to be unique in your collection. personally i'd lose the tag too if you have to lose one of them. good luck whatever you decide!

Probably lose the Tag if I had too but only if you need to raise funds or make space, otherwise keep em all

Difficult to suggest that you get rid of any as I am not sure our minds are wired that way! How about you post some photographs of the entire collection when the new trio arrives? That way, our suggestions can be made with the benefit of visuals.

If you like them all then keep them all, every watch I have bought I have never wanted to sell, otherwise I never would have bought them.

Thanks guys. Will definitely post pics. I kinda figured ppl will say keep all. I wasn't planning on selling anything, but to return one of the CWs using the 60/60. Probably when I have them on the wrist, I will know which ones stay and which goes.

I just bagged two of the C65's in the sale and my thoughts are they will be a more all rounder than dress.
The lume, the 43mm size and the brushed case all speak casual to me. I most likely will pull the dressier Gator strap and replace with a smooth leather and contrast stitching. Just a suggestion.

Very tempted by a few of the C65's myself. What's' stopping me is how similar they look (from the front aspect anyway) to a lot of other dress watches in my collection - Tissot, Longines, Omega etc. However, for £249 the equivalent shop bought auto model would come no where close to the CW's and as I'm writing I'm gently persuading myself toward a black face/leather strap combo and possibly a rose gold as well. No doubt they'll be cropping up on eBay over the course of next week after the swarm of post-Easter deliveries.

Missed out on the C70 VW's and still annoyed with myself so on the lookout still!
