ETA 251.233
ETA 251.233
OK, so I went for the C70 that came up for sale in clearance, and I know that there is the 60 month guarantee, but I am a bit concerned about the movement. If the movement has been discontinued, is it going to be a nightmare to repair in 10 or 15 years?

I have an old 1950's omega.....i had that serviced and repaired recently, and it was not expensive.....so i would expect that these days with markets as they are that "parts" will be up on shelves somewhere....for longer than most of us have left on the planet?

Re: ETA 251.233
Repair of old quartz movements is a concern, because it can become hard to source parts.
On the other hand, compared with mechanicals, they tend to last a very long time without problems.
The 251.233 is a relatively expensive quartz movement because it is thermocompensated.
I suspect they didn't cut many corners with it, because the price is many times higher than standard quartz.
I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: ETA 251.233
It is a fine movement and provided you have the seals checked when battery is replaced the movement is likely to live well beyond your interest in quartz watches!
