Anyone familiar with this brand?
Seems to be a young company with (at this point) a single model - the Sparrow Hawk, 40mm 316l steel, sapphire....
The Sparrow Hawk houses a Seagull ST-1901, column-wheel hand-wound movement (which I think some of you already own in the PRS-5).
I like the look of this watch and it looks well-made, but at around the £300 mark, it seems a little overpriced?
Interested to hear if anyone knows any more... Thanks

Re: Techne Watches
I'd never heard of Techne till you posted this information.
I agree that it is a nice looking piece and that it is a little expensive; I could live with $404 if it included taxes. I have bookmarked Techne's (rather good) site (I like the way something moves into the basket) for the future.
BUT... you made me go and look at the PRS5 again... must resist - must....

Has a nice clean military look to it, but is a little expensive for a chinese movement.
No more Quartz (except when I cannot resist).

I would second this I have the PRS 5 which has a great movement that I can recommend, I would be interested in this but at a similar price to the PRS 5 which I feel is set at a good retail price.

Me too! (apart from the price). When/If these ever became available at £200-£230, I'd give it a go, but tbh I think the £:€ exchange rate has stuffed the price!paw3001 wrote:Prefer this one over the PRS 5

£259.07 if you set the site to pricing in £.paw3001 wrote:They around £230-250 when you convert the $ into £ but it's the VAT and duty that makes it uneconomicial
Add delivery £8.96
Add VAT £46.90
= £314.94
I think they are shipped out of Europe (they use Swiss Post), so no duty..
But still, too expensive for what it is.

Re: Techne Watches
Just checking out these watches again, I came across this blog and video review...

Also checked the pricing again. Seems you can have one delivered into UK for £280.
Tempting..
