That's just a little less than double of the Pelagos then. I am not sure how the bracelets would compare.

I don't think there's much doubt about where the value lies...

The current model is £2840, and I read on TZ that the new movement will add £180ish.

i think that blue pelagos pic is not very representative of what the blue will look like. it's a very bright, high key image.
the "g" is for Greg...

Here's a worthy contender in the Exploralike search. SBGM025, £2.3k + import duties on Chrono24...

Image

Slightly tall in the case though...

The only problem with that watch is that it isn't this watch:

I imagine the price is quite different though

Visited my friendly Bremont/Rolex/Tudor dealer this morning for a coffee and a chat. I looked at a lot of watches, and two stood out...

The Rolex Milgauss Z-Blue.

Image

I'm yet to see a photograph that truly captures this watch. One day...

And secondly, the Bremont Alt1-C/SI

Image

This is the watch that ignited my interest in the brand, and even though I have cooled a little, I would still love to own one of these. Scooter pointed out one in Bournemouth - and it still seems to be there, so this particular version is clearly not too popular. Anyway, it turns out that my AD has had it in stock for ages. Negotiations have started. :D

As much as I hate what I am about to write....... :(

Surely though Richard, if the 42mm Explorer is pushing the size boundary, this is going to be far too large. It wears bigger than the Solo.

Now, if you were to negotiate a good offer for me............ :D

Of course you are right about the size. BUT, it is all about context. The Bremont is supposed to be BIG! Actually, it's crazy. The Alt1-C/SI is super-tall - way taller than the Solo, but... somehow, the sub-dials and chrono pushers make it feel ok.

It's a casual watch, and as such, the size is less important. That's my story. :D
