New arrival Jean Richard terrascope

Post by omegaaddict »

I jumped on the sale at ashford that was posted on the bargain hunters thread as I've had my eye on a terrascope for a while. And I've wanted a white faced watch to potentially replace my C20 so when I saw one with blue hands and indices I thought perfect!

At 39mm I though it would be an ideal size in my wrist. However, given the ratio of bezel to dial I feel the watch wears too small for me.

What do you think?

Personally, I like many aspects of the watch. The hands and hour markers in blue against the white dial look great.

I am inclined to agree that the bezel is rather overbearing and makes the watch wear smaller. With enough wrist time perhaps it is a grower? It is unusual, which would be another positive for me.

Excellent catch, congrats omegaaddict, btw where's the BLNR?

As to the size, I think it's a good fit given the light dial color, if it was black or darker color, it might be tad small relatively speaking.

Looks fantastic! If that colour scheme was in the 44mm it would join my bronze one.

I do not think that it looks too small, it looks pretty much spot on.

The 44 would be too big though looking at your wrist shot.

They really are fantastic watches. The quality and attention to detail is superb.

Have you looked at the indeces? They float above the dial as they are actually fixed to a second chapter ring below the dial, and are routed through from beneath so that they float. Just an example of the supremely high quality and design.

Certainly not too small. It looks spot on perfect.
Shame the rest of the range doesn't come in 39 and real, real shame they didn't re release the highlands. Lovely dial btw

Im taking the weekend to think about it as in not back in Saudi till Sunday. Will take my SO to have a look at it at the mall here in Dubai to get her take. Unfortunately they don't currently have the OP in stock here.

Yep, that looks very nice indeed

Hope the BLNR is still in stock!! I've done that twice now, this year !!

Decided to return and buy, and the watch had been sold. :(

Looks very nice, and I think the size is fine. An interesting way into the Panerai genre. Tempting.

Size looks spot on to me. Tried on a couple at Salon QP last year - look to be good value.

I think I like it more on a sporty black strap.

I was very tempted by that particular model in the Ashford sale too, only a lack of available funds prevented me purchasing though I too was concerned about the sizing. It does look a bit dainty on your wrist but I think that's more to do with the hirsuteness of your forearm, perhaps a spot of waxing would help?
