Yep, same place. Thanks for the inspiration. There is always something special about a watch as a gift, but one made by the giver is just something else!

Thanks again.

You're more than welcome. Maybe I should have this guy give me a discount now. I just ordered more parts to build one for myself. This time I went for the 6497 swan neck movement and a sapphire crystal.

That is superb, not sure I would have the skill for this.

Been thinking of doing something similar myself, this is awesome. A massive well done. Love it.

I'm almost too impressed - this has equally provided inspiration and also put me off as I couldn't match or better it!

Still have no idea where to begin really, I mean, I'm baffled.

Very impressive indeed - and something for your son, and perhaps one day his son, to treasure.

After reading this thread last week I ordered all the bits to make my own watch. Always wanted a Pilots Fliegar watch, so decided to build my own.

The parts are slowly but surely coming so I'm getting excited. And scared. I definately don't know what to do haha.

Document the process and submit when completed. We would love to see your project. Best of luck.

Will make a point of it. Shall start my own thread soon - my movement came today, complete with sexy blued screws.

...I'm stuck. I may well have broken the movement or something like that.

A trip to a specialist might be in order.

Oh no! Send me a PM if you want and tell me exactly what happened, maybe I can help. It certainly hurt.
